Creating Viral Content is Easy When You Know How
A major goal of every internet marketer is to create something, anything that goes viral and earns them some attention.
There's no question that this kind of marketing event would greatly increase your traffic, and hopefully sales, and it would put a shot into your business esteem. As you know, producing something to become viral is difficult to do. No one can say with any certainty at all what will be the next rising trend, or topic, on the web. Things shift so quickly that getting into the forefront of everybody's attention sometimes feels more like luck than anything else. But there are certain strategies you can adopt that will increase your chances of doing something viral.
Here are some things you can do.
But first, whenever you get people's attention on your business, work like mad to keep it there. You want to make your site, sticky. If something you make goes viral, create a sequel for it. And that will help keep the newer visitors coming back for more. Once you go viral you cannot slack off because doing so will only guarantee you "flash in the pan" status online. So, this will be your great opportunity to acquire repeat visitors and hopefully buyers. So becoming viral with something only means all the hard work lies ahead of you.
Avoid dragging your feet between content releases after your viral campaign. Avoid stalling on things by telling people "new sales prices coming soon," or anything like that. You'll have to create more and with greater frequency because if you bore people, then you'll surely lose them. We all know what happens when you make people wait too long or they forget about us. Once you've established a steady base or a newsletter you can let a little bit more time lapse between releases. Until then, however, count on needing to create something pretty much every day!
Get involved with communities of interest to you, online. Participate in forums, or leave insightful comments on blogs in your niche. Become more active in the larger dialogue in your market. Try to offer meaningful involvement, and if you do then your market will take note of who you are. You'll find that most blogs will let you link back to your blog/site through their comment forms and also with signature files in forums. You will develop a positive reputation if you try to genuinely help others, and one day something you create could become viral.
Being able to quickly seize attention is much more effective with going viral than merely the content. But that certainly doesn't mean it just takes great content to have something be viral. If you give these common sense guidelines a shot, your chances of something good happening will only get better.
