If your emails contain certain words that trigger the spam filters, it will be blocked, so you are better off staying away from these words. If, for example, you are in the online money making niche, stay away from terms like “make money” or “get rich.” Many spam emails that are sent out unsolicited contain these words. Try to use alternatives that give away the meaning and at the same time don’t bother the spam filters. Another word that is likely to set off spam filters is “free,” so say instead, “at no charge.” So it’s how craft out your copy that matters. You have to frame your message so that people can relate to it and will respond to it. Not only do trigger terms set off spam filters, but your prospects may also see them this way, so you’re better off avoiding them for this reason too. Each email you send should include a definitive call to action. Often times you see marketers ignoring this aspect and are found getting bad results. Don’t simply believe they’ll get the point on their own. Be specific about your intentions. Include your call to action at the top of your message and even the bottom if possible.
Always focus on your stats and see what they’re saying. Your email service should offer you plenty of stats to help you track responses. See if you have access to checking things like how many people opened your email, how many unsubscribed and how many acted. Always spend time testing responses to various formats and try to vary the placement of your links to see if this affects responses. Compare your stats and analyse how you can improve.
